Remediation Waste Management
The LSP Board has approved this course for 8.0 hours of "DEP Regulatory" Credit (Course #1394). This is a repeat course that was previously offered in December 2009.
Course Objective, and Description:
The purpose of the Remediation Waste Management course is to provide an overview of how various wastes generated during activities at MCP disposal sites during assessment, containment and removal for comprehensive response actions and post-RAO construction activities are classified and regulated as the wastes are generated, accumulated, stored, treated and/or disposed.
The discussion will present reviews of regulatory requirements, interpretive policy and guidance from MassDEP and USEPA. To reinforce the application of these concepts there will be several case study scenarios presented where the regulatory requirements for remediation waste management will be demonstrated.
