“EPOC 2015: What We Are, and What We Can Be”

Please join us for an open forum on the current activities of EPOC and what new initiatives/services you would like to see EPOC provide in the coming years.  EPOC was established in 1997 and we now have over 500 members with diverse technical and environmental professional backgrounds. Current EPOC services/activities include:

  • Providing members with courses in preparation for the LEP examination and for continuing education credits – through our Education Committee
  • Maintaining liaisons with the State Board of Examiners and the Connecticut DEEP to keep apprised of their activities, including development and implementation of regulations regarding licensing – through our LEP Board Liaison Committee and Board of Directors
  • Providing comment/testimony in the interest of LEPs – through our Legislative Committee and Board of Directors
  • Assisting in revising/updating guidance documents as practice experience warrants – through ad-hoc committees and Board of Directors
  • Providing Scholarships and Environmental Grants to worthy individuals and groups – through our Scholarship/Grants Committee
  • Serving as a clearinghouse for tools and information useful to LEPs, such as guidance documents, standards, technical protocols, research articles, etc., and,
  • Keeping members apprised of any changes or clarifications to LEPs' responsibilities.

We would like to hear your thoughts on how we’re doing and what other services or events we could provide to improve our association. Some food for thought:

  • Young Professionals committee to promote education and networking for those on track for LEP licensure
  • Regular membership meetings on technical subjects
  • Communications – membership newsletter

But again, we wish to hear from you. So please join us at City Steam Brewery Cafe in Hartford for an open discussion – we’ll even provide you with a beer and some apps to get things started! Please sign-up today!
